Northwest Local School District Celebrates Remarkable 11-Point Increase in Third Grade ELA State Test Scores
Northwest Local School District (NWLSD) is thrilled to announce a substantial 11-point increase in the percentage of students scoring PROFICIENT in English Language Arts (ELA) from Fall 2022 to Fall 2023.
The district-wide progress is evident, with ALL BUILDINGS experiencing an uptick in proficiency scores, showcasing the collective dedication to academic excellence. This achievement is a testament to NWLSD's commitment to fostering a responsive learning environment.
Building on the momentum observed in MAP and MAP Fluency data for first and second grades since 2021, the district is now witnessing the positive impact on third-grade State test scores. The results affirm the district's holistic approach to education and its emphasis on foundational skills.
Key Highlights of Success:
- Monfort Heights Elementary: Surpassed state proficiency gains with an impressive 25 percentage point increase, elevating proficiency from 27% in Fall 2022 to an outstanding 52% in Fall 2023.
- Struble Elementary: Demonstrated significant progress with a commendable 17 percentage point gain, advancing proficiency from 22% in Fall 2022 to 39% in Fall 2023.
